Help Lily Fight Arthritis!

My name is Lily Frick, and I am 3 years old. I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at 18 months, and have been battling ever since then. My joints have been pretty good for a while, but these past few months have been a bit scary. The arthritis which usually attacks joints has, for whatever reason, started to go after one of my eyes. Fortunately, one of my doctors caught it, and they, along with my parents, are trying to figure out how to best fight back.

I am asking you to join me in the fight! On Sunday morning, May 17, 2009, the Arthritis Foundation conducts its annual walk at the Bergen County Community College in Paramus, New Jersey. Last year, I was proud to be leading my walk team, Lily's Flower Power, to another strong showing at the walk. We had over 90 walkers and raised over $12,000.00. Wow! I could buy a lot of candy for that amount...but more importantly, that kind of money goes a long way toward helping kids like me.

The New Jersey Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation is particularly focused on programs for kids, including top-notch education, training and, believe it or not, the nation's only sleep-away camp dedicated to helping kids with arthritis.

The Arthritis Foundation has done great things for me, and thousands of kids like me. Please help us. Any amount given is greatly appreciated. All you have to do is type in the amount on this page, and click on the "continue" link. This allows you to give by credit card....it is safe and convenient.

If you are one of our local friends, I hope you can join us for the walk. Its a fun morning for the whole family with a festival-type atmosphere. Because most of the money has already been donated, there is not a great deal of pressure to bring sponsors with you etc. Were just there to raise awareness and enjoy a morning of fresh air. The walk is safe for small kids as it runs along the grounds of BCCC. Please be sure to tell my Mom and Dad if you plan to come. Its important to know who is coming not only because we'd love to see you all there, but because I have to order the Lilys Flower Power t-shirt 3 weeks in advance! I hope that you can make it.
